Starting his career as a Certified Public Accountant, he gained a sharp understanding of financial systems, setting the stage for his entry into real estate.
In 1975, he borrowed $1,000 for his first property. What began as a small, ambitious company steadily grew into one of Arizona’s largest privately owned real estate development firms, specializing in multifamily housing, hospitality, and commercial ventures. Today, HSL owns and operates thousands of apartment units and properties across the Southwest—each one a testament to Humberto’s passion for quality, community, and long-term impact.
